North Fork Is Closed
North Fork Correctional Center at 1605 E. Main in Sayre was formerly a large state and private prison tied to ODOC and CoreCivic. It is not an active Beckham County custody endpoint. ODOC announced in May 2023 that its arrangement would expire and that the agency would vacate North Fork by June 30, 2023. Later state board records removed 2,596 beds after depopulation. Those facts make the closed status clear.
Old prison directories, maps, and cached pages can remain online long after operations end. A listed address does not show current custody. It also cannot show that someone left prison for the community. Former North Fork prisoners were moved within the ODOC system, including during the effort to populate Great Plains Correctional Center in Caddo County. Movement away from North Fork was a facility transfer unless an individual record shows a separate lawful release.
North Fork Release Destinations
A person leaving North Fork before closure could have moved to another state prison, entered parole, completed a sentence, transferred to another jurisdiction, or experienced another ODOC placement change. During depopulation, many departures were transfers inside the state system. The old facility name identifies where a person once stayed, not the final outcome.

A release from the North Fork building and a release from ODOC are not the same fact. Statewide records answer the second question. The Beckham County Sheriff cannot certify a state-prison discharge merely because the prison once stood near Sayre.

Great Plains Correctional Center is in Caddo County. It is not a replacement Beckham County facility for a local facility map, even though ODOC moved operations or population there. Search the individual ODOC record to learn whether that or another placement applied.
North Fork Parole Records
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board records parole consideration and board action. Its dockets can display `PE DATE`, `PRD`, and `BOARD ACTION`. PE date is eligibility for consideration. PRD is ODOC's projected release calculation. Board action is a decision. These labels answer different questions, and none alone proves a person physically left prison.

A person on parole can live outside prison while remaining under supervision. Discharge marks the recorded end of that sentence or supervision. Probation is court-ordered community supervision and does not necessarily follow a prison term. These terms should not be treated as interchangeable.
North Fork VINE Checks
Oklahoma VINE provides agency-fed custody status and notifications. It can help track a state prisoner after North Fork, but it is not a certified discharge record. Search the person's name or available identifier, match the reporting agency and identity details, and note the last update. Any result should be checked against ODOC and the sentencing court.
Statewide VINE availability does not mean every old event remains visible. A missing person may reflect a name variation, retention limits, feed changes, or another jurisdiction. The state service is especially useful for notices of custody changes, while ODOC records and court documents carry the official detail.
Note: A North Fork facility departure during depopulation was often a transfer, so seek the next ODOC placement before searching for discharge.
North Fork Federal Transfers
No active BOP, ICE, or USMS detention facility in Beckham County was verified. Federal tools matter only if a record shows a transfer or federal case. The BOP locator covers sentenced federal inmates from 1982 onward and can display a release date and `RELEASED` status. BOP cautions that release from its custody does not rule out supervision or custody elsewhere.
ICE's locator covers current detainees and persons released from ICE custody for about 60 days. USMS has no like public historical release database.
