Sayre Work Center Is Historical
Sayre Community Work Center appears in older Oklahoma Department of Corrections material. The ODOC calendar-year 2015 progress report documents releases from community work centers, including Sayre. Current ODOC facility listings omit it. That evidence supports a historical facility, not a current place to call, visit, or wait for a release.
The distinction matters because old reports and third-party directories can remain searchable. A facility name on an old record establishes a past placement. It does not show where the person is now, whether the person later moved to another prison, whether parole began, or whether the sentence ended. Search ODOC by person and DOC number rather than assuming the historical Sayre facility still controls the record.
Sayre Center Release Meanings
A work-center departure can mark several events. A resident may have moved to another ODOC placement, entered community supervision, received parole, completed a custodial phase, or reached discharge. A projected release date is an estimate and can change with earned credits, disciplinary loss or restoration, sentence amendments, detainers, new cases, and parole or revocation events. Sayre Center Court Records
The sentencing court preserves the legal side of the history. ODCR and OSCN can display case number, county, parties, charges, docket events, judgment, sentence, probation, revocation, dismissal, discharge, and later amendments. Court entries may explain why ODOC placed or released someone. They do not necessarily show the exact time of physical departure from a work center.
Match the court record to the ODOC person by name, date of birth when available, case number, sentencing county, offense, and sentence date. North Fork Closure Context
Beckham County has another major stale-facility problem. North Fork Correctional Center in Sayre was a separate state and private prison. ODOC announced it would vacate North Fork by June 30, 2023, while populating Great Plains Correctional Center in Caddo County. North Fork's closure does not establish the operational dates of Sayre Community Work Center, but both facilities show why a current list is vital.
Neither old facility should be confused with the active Beckham County Jail. The sheriff controls county detainee records. ODOC controls former state prisoners and work-center residents. The North Fork historical release page addresses that separate closed-prison trail.
Sayre Center Transfer Limits
No active federal or immigration detention facility was verified in Beckham County. If an ODOC or court record names BOP, ICE, USMS, or another federal authority, follow the named agency. BOP covers sentenced federal inmates from 1982 onward. ICE's locator covers current detainees and persons released from ICE custody for about 60 days. PACER can show federal detention or release orders.
Those federal tools should not be used merely because a former work-center record is old or missing. A transfer notation or federal case must support the change in route. Release from one agency can still mean custody or supervision under another.
Verify Sayre Release History
A sound answer uses several linked facts. Confirm identity first. Establish the historical Sayre placement through ODOC material. Follow later placement or supervision in the statewide person record. Add PPB action if parole was involved and the sentencing docket for the legal timeline. Request a closed record when the public view does not supply the needed historical detail.
